EXIN and BCS Launch First SIAM® Certification

Utrecht, London, March 3, 2017 – Today EXIN, a leading international certification institute in the ICT domain and BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT launch the new and unique certification program in Service Integration and Management: EXIN BCS SIAM® Foundation.

This new certification program is the first one to be developed on the topic of Service Integration and Management (SIAM). Although Service Integration and Management has been around for years, the trend towards multi sourcing and distributed services has caused an increase in the adoption of SIAM. In turn, there is now a growing demand for more understanding and clarity around basic concepts, taxonomy and practices.

Although SIAM will usually take place in an environment that already uses IT service management processes, the current frameworks offer insufficient guidance on handling multiple suppliers and aligning their services. SIAM is tailored to a multi-party environment and focuses on the specific challenges that come with multi-sourcing and adapts existing Service Management processes, practices and techniques to work effectively in a multi-service provider environment.

The SIAM Body of Knowledge, the content which the SIAM® certification program is based on, was developed by program architect Scopism together with an expert team that has extensive knowledge of and background in IT Service Management. Like EXIN and BCS, Scopism recognized the need for a more integrated approach to IT Service Management.

The SIAM® Foundation certification will be followed by a Professional level certification, later in 2017. Furthermore, EXIN and BCS have recently conducted a worldwide survey on the state of Service Integration and Management. The outcome of this survey will be published later this month.
